April 2nd is Children's Book Day! This special day is celebrated around the world to inspire a love a reading and call attention to the value children's books bring to everyone.

First organized in 1967 by Jella Lepman, Children's Book Day is celebrated on Hans Christian Andersen’s Birthday (April 2nd) to encourage parents, teachers, and children around the world to participate in reading events and show children all the amazing possibilities that come from reading.

Reading Sparks Your Child's Natural Curiosity

Stories play a vital role in the growth and development of our children. The books they read and the characters they get to know launch them into a world of creativity and imagination.

Reading augments a child's natural curiosity about the world around them, and inspires creativity by using their imagination. Books show children that the world is a unique and wonderful place full of endless possibilities. This is true both when reading to your child and when they learn to read themselves!

The more you read to your child, the more you helps your child absorb and interpret the world around them. A child’s reading skills helps ensure success in school and everyday life. From a very young age children have the ability to interpret and process many different pieces of information, so it's important to expose them to all different topics and genres!

Here are some books we offer that combine a love of science with a love of reading:
