This book was developed to support and promote the Numu (Northern Paiute) people of eastern California. The text appears in both English and Numu Dadooanna, a dialect of Northern Paiute traditionally spoken near Bridgeport, California (Poga), with translation done by native speakers from the local Numu community. The back pages provide child abuse prevention resources and tips for bonding and deeper discussion.
