Children's Literature, a monthly newsletter that helps teachers, librarians, childcare providers and parents make appropriate literary choices for children, is now in its fifth year of publication. Founded in 1993 by Marilyn Courtot, a trained librarian, the publication's mission is to facilitate literacy through the love of reading.
Each issue of Children's Literature contains a minimum of 50 reviews of recent children's publications. Reviews are often grouped in themes; some examples include the Underground Railroad, famous lives, flora and fauna, science-fiction, Americana, holidays, friendships, and kids facing tough issues.
Children's Literature reviewers include children's book authors, librarians, writers and editors, teachers, and physicians. Reviewers' biographies are available on our websites. We pride ourselves on being an independent review source. We are not affiliated with any publisher and accept no advertising.
